Why do I need orthodontic treatment?

Our orthodontists can treat a range of problems, including:

• Overjet: this is when your upper teeth protrude outwards and sit more than 2mm over the lower teeth
• Underbite: this is when your lower teeth extend outward further than the upper teeth
• Crowded teeth
• Crooked teeth
• Rotated teeth
• Impacted teeth: these are the molars at the back of your mouth that do not have enough room to develop normally

How does it progress?

Using the latest technologies, your orthodontist will carry out an initial assessment of your mouth to custom-make braces, aligners, and retainers. Every few weeks, braces are tightened to put tension
on the teeth and ease them back into the proper position. This can take months or years depending on the problem. If you opt for retainers, a set will be made to gradually perfect your teeth over time.

Aftercare treatment

After you have completed the brace or aligner treatment, you will need to wear a custom-made removable retainer to maintain the position of your teeth. The time varies from person to person.
